so long as any external hardware drivers are compatible with 10.10.3 However, as Yosemite seems to make more demands on hardware, there is likely to be quite a noticeable performance hit using LPX and Mavericks/Yosemite compared to the LP9 and Snow Leopard combination Logic Pro X 10.1.1 and Yosemite 10.10.3 seems to be relatively stable. Previous recommendations for Logic Pro 9 users to stay with earlier OS X versions (Preferably 10.6.8 for best performance) still apply for more optimal performance. Ensure any hardware drivers used are fully compatible with 10.10.3 before upgrading to Yosemite. but that's because Yosemite adds/makes a much high demand on system resources For others however, the combo of Yosemite and LP9 is still proving to be unstable so bear this in mind. Update: 20th May 2015: Logic Pro 9 working okay for some users under Yosemite 10.10.3. Do not upgrade unless you have made full 'clone' backups using something like SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner beforehand, of your current system disk so you can easily roll back if things no longer function correctly after upgrading OS X. Bear in mind most issues relating to Logic after major OS X Upgrades are usually caused by incompatible drivers for external devices or 'broken' 3rd party plugins. It wasn't as straight forward as the OP said with my system, but pretty much painless and with no swearing to boot.Note: What follows is a series of personal opinions and advice based on my own experiences and those I have gleaned from other, long time, users of Logic Pro. Not surprised by this so I used Toleda's audio fix, answered yes to every question, restarted my machine after it was done and the sound is now working great through my DVI-HDMI cable.

I then went through the onboard graphics, installed that new driver and then rebooted with great picture through my graphics in beautiful 4k. Tried a second boot this time through the graphics card but got a error saying the card was not compatible and it shut off. So I booted up the first time with onboard graphics, entered my password and icloud info and got a pop up from nVidia that there were updated drivers for my card, but I thought let's wait to make sure it works fine with the old drivers. I then tried it and it installed with out a problem, and so much faster than on my old macbook air.

There was no obvious error from the boot log, but I remember every time I install the os on a Hackintosh, I need to unplug all other hard drives and the graphics card (be sure to turn on onboard graphics first) and have the monitor connected on the motherboard. I always boot in verbose mode so didn't get the grey screen, but it started to load then all of a sudden there was a panic and the computer restarted. Just went through the steps listed and it didn't quite work as expected.
